	I am a choreographer and dancer. I’m a millennial. I make dances to help make sense of the world around me, and in turn help others make sense of the world around them. As our lives increasingly take place in digital spheres, divorced from our bodies and emotions, I use movement, sound, space, time, and costume to create performance experiences that are sometimes wrenching and sometimes hilarious, but always a catalyst for catharsis. My movement vocabulary draws from contemporary and postmodern western concert dance, is deeply influenced by my 15 year practice of lindy hop and authentic jazz, and maintains an ongoing negotiation with my early classical ballet training. Regardless of what else I’m investigating, my choreographic practice asks, “Can I extricate ballet completely from my body? And if not, how can I learn to find peace with its imprints?” This negotiation in turn has led me to consider larger questions of how identity is created and recreated and to make work that induces and holds space for emotional release and imagining alternative realities. </description>

I am an accomplished lindy hop, balboa, and authentic jazz dancer and educator with over 15 years of experience on the social dance floor. With David Lee, I am the co-champion of the infamous 2013 Lindy Focus Al and Leon Partnered Solo Jazz contest and I previously served as staff instructor and education coordinator for the 9:20 Special, San Francisco’s longest running weekly lindy hop dance. I have also placed in numerous competitions across the United States and around the world including the Canadian Swing Championships, Lindy Focus, Lindy on the Rocks, Camp Jitterbug, and Lindy Bout. As a teacher, I love to help students build their confidence and find their voice through connecting with music, history, and community. I am available for class series, weekend workshops, private lessons, choreography, coaching, performances, consulting, MCing, judging and probably other things (send me your idea!).&#38;nbsp;The Lindy Hop is a Black American social dance, particularly popular in the 1930s and 40s. 		<description>Hershel and the Hanukkah Goblins is an original, family-friendly, contemporary and Yiddish dance adaptation of the classic children's book by Eric Kimmel and Trina Schart Hyman, choreographed and directed by Hannah MacKenzie-Margulies.&#38;nbsp;
In the story, a wandering trickster named Hershel saves a village in Ukraine from a pack of goblins who have taken over their synagogue and are preventing them from celebrating the holiday of Hanukkah.

Featuring a multi-generational cast and live music by Di Bayke Klezmer Band, this production runs approximately 50 minutes.
